Other components that can occur in a window/dialogue are text boxes (or text
fields), checkboxes, action buttons, menu arrows and radio buttons.
 
NOTE
In the remainder of this manual, windows other than the main editor windows are
referred to as ‘dialogues’.
           
Menu arrow.
Clicking on the
arrow will display a
drop-down menu.
Checkbox.
A   indicates the
option next to the
checkbox is
selected.
Click on the
checkbox to clear
or de-select an
option.
Action button.
Button label
indicates the
action.
Referred to by the
label, eg. ‘OK’,
‘Clear, ‘Cancel’.
Text box (or field).
Type or edit text in
the box.
