Set Password
Passwords
Passwords are supported but not required. However, it is recommended that
passwords be used, as users can login to the network using print server accounts
without passwords, enabling them to access XCounter data. XCounter reads the
password from the file \SYS\SYSTEM\XCOUNTER\NLM3X.PWD. However,
XControl only creates this file on the current server that is being configured, even if the
passwords are synchronized on other servers. This file can be copied from one
server to another if necessary.

Account Balance File Server (Bindery only.)
If XCounter will be enforcing user account balances/quotas, all balances can be kept
on one central server in a multiple server setup. This requires that users have identical
login names on both the server where XCounter is running and the account balance
server.

If user account balances/quotas are required in bindery mode, it is necessary to
install Netware accounting on the server. For Netware 3.x, run SYSCON and select
Accounting; otherwise run NWAdmin and view the details of the server.

If the account balance server goes down, any queues that have an accounting setting
of “User account balances and Log file” will have counting (and printing) paused until
XCounter can reconnect to the server.
