If the printhead is not operational
Follow these instructions for shipping a damaged printer for servicing, if the
carriage containing the printhead does not return to the far right position when you
turn off the printer using the POWER button.

1.
Press the POWER button to turn off the printer.
2.
Remove the power cable and the interface cable.
3.
Open the top cover and make sure that the carriage is in its home
position (at the right front of the printer). If not, move it to the
home position by hand.

4.
Remove all ink cartridges (see ÒRemoving a used ink cartridgeÓ on page 4-3).
5.
Wrap the ink cartridges individually with clear plastic wrap or
similar material. Pack them together in a plastic bag to avoid
spilling ink.
