The Phaser 540 printer driver for the Macintosh requires the following 
hardware and software: 

■

An Apple Macintosh II computer (or later) 

■

At least 4 Mbytes of memory

■

System Software version 6.0.7, or 7.0 and higher

If the printer is shared on a network, install the same version of the Tektronix 
driver on all Macintosh computers connected to the network.

Make sure your Macintosh is powered up with System Software 
version 6.0.7, or 7.0 or higher, installed. 

Insert the Macintosh Driver and Printer Utilities diskette into the 
disk drive.

Drag the 

Phaser 540 driver icon from the diskette to the closed 

System Folder icon on your Macintosh hard disk.

System 7.0 and higher, at the alert message, click 

OK to 

automatically install the driver in the Extensions folder.  

■

System 6.0.7, the driver is installed in the System Folder.  

If you are using system 6.0.7, you need to install two files in the 
Old System Items folder:

Drag these files to the closed 

System Folder icon on your 

Macintosh hard disk.
