If the volume manager is not running, you can manually mount the PC 
diskette.   You must have root privileges to use the mount command.  
Type the following command:

 

mount -F pcfs /dev/diskette /floppy

Or, if the device name /dev/diskette - /pcfs pcfs -no-

is in your /etc/vfstab 

directory, type the following command to mount the diskette:  

You can then copy the files to your hard disk or extract the file unix.tar, as 
described in “Extracting files from unix.tar” on page 4-13.

 To eject the diskette, type:  

Do not execute the eject command from within the mount point (the 
directory to which you mounted the diskette).
