Configuring MeetingPlace Servers for Multiserver
Meetings
Meetings
Before your users can set up a multiserver meeting, you must provide them
with a user profile on each MeetingPlace server. In addition, you must also
create Server Information records on each MeetingPlace system so the
servers can identify each other when they connect.

Providing Users with Profiles on the Other MeetingPlace Servers
To schedule a multiserver meeting, a user must have multiserver
scheduling privileges as well as a profile on each MeetingPlace server
that’s involved in the meeting. For example, if a user needs to schedule a
multiserver meeting between New York City and London, you must make
sure they have a user profile with multiserver scheduling privileges on the
New York City MeetingPlace server as well as on the London
MeetingPlace server.

There are two ways that you can provide users with profiles on other
MeetingPlace servers:
MeetingPlace servers:
•
If the user already has a profile on a MeetingPlace server, have the other
servers import this profile into their database. If the user does not
already have a profile, create one and then have the other servers import
it. For more information on how to import profiles, refer to Chapter 3.

it. For more information on how to import profiles, refer to Chapter 3.
•
Have all MeetingPlace system managers create the same “generic”
profile on their MeetingPlace server, and have all schedulers use this
profile when setting up a multiserver meeting. This allows all schedulers
to log into each server using the same ID and password. This method,
however, can create security and billing issues because each scheduler
uses the same profile. For more information on creating user profiles,
see Chapter 3.

Enabling User Profiles for Multiserver Scheduling
For a user to schedule a multiserver meeting, you need to give them
multiserver scheduling privileges in their user profile. You must have system
manager privileges to modify a user’s profile.
