Customer Access Platform 

Product Overview 

The Cisco

®

 ONS 15305 Multiservice Customer Access Platform integrates the functions of an SDH Add/Drop 

Multiplexer and Layer 2 switch fabric to combine time-division multiplexing (TDM) (E1, E3/T3, STM-1, STM-4, and 

STM-16) and Ethernet (10/100BaseT and Gigabit Ethernet) services in an SDH link up to 2.5 Gbps. The platform 

implements a full nonblocking 64 x 64 cross-connect matrix with VC-12, VC-3, and VC-4 granularity, and has four 

slots for service modules to support various combinations of traffic.

 

Product Limitation 

The STM-16 cards of the ONS 15305 Platform are not compliant with the current Restriction of Hazardous 

Substances (RoHS) rules and thus can no longer be shipped to the European Union, Switzerland, and China.
