Cisco NFC 6.0 is a major release and it replaces Cisco NFC 5.x. Furthermore, it provides 

enhanced value-added features, high performance, and scalability. Cisco MNFC 6.0 is a tier-

two module. In other words, in the tiered hierarchy presented in Figure 1, Cisco MNFC resides 

at tier 2. It collects and summarizes traffic from tier 1 NetFlow collectors to provide an end-to-

end network-level traffic analysis and a centralized view of all Cisco NFC 6.0 implementations.

Cisco NFC 6.0 supports the following operating systems and platforms:

Solaris 8, Solaris 9, and Solaris 10 on an entry-level server with dual 1 GHz or greater 

SPARC processors, such as a Sun Fire V240 

●

 

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1, 3.0, 4.0 (ES or AS) 

●

 

Minimum: 1 GB RAM, 10K SCSI, 30 GB hard disk, single processor on an entry-level server 

●

 

Recommended: 4 GB RAM, 15K Ultra 320 SCSI, dual 70 GB hard disks, dual processors 

on an entry-level server 

 

Cisco Multi-NFC supports the following operating systems and platforms: 

●

 

Solaris 8, Solaris 9, and Solaris 10 on a midrange server, such as the Sun Fire T2000 with 

1 GHz or greater UltraSPARC T1 processors 

●

 

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1, 3.0, 4.0 (ES or AS) on a midrange server, such as an IBM 

x460 with 3.3 GHz or greater Intel Xeon processors
