Log out of the Application Server so that you can later log back in as root user. 

Follow these instructions to log out of the Application Server. 

 

1. 

 

Click EXIT on the toolbar at the bottom of the Application Server screen. 
Result:  A message appears seeking confirmation of your intent to log off the 

Application Server. 

2. 

 

Click OK. 
Results:

You log off the Application Server. 

• 

The CDE Login window opens. 

3. 

 

Go to Shutting Down the Application Server, next in this section. 

 

You need to shut down the Application Server while the DNCS is being prepared for 

the SR 2.5 and SR 3.5 upgrade. Follow these instructions to shut down the 

Application Server. 

 

1. 

 

Log in to the Application Server as root user. 

2. 

 

Open an xterm window on the Application Server. 

3. 

 

Type /usr/sbin/shutdown  -y  -g0  -i0 and then press Enter. 
Result:  The ok prompt appears.
