If you using a NOC Alarm Manager server, follow these instructions to 

determine whether each Alarm Manager client PC can successfully ping the 

NOC Alarm Manager server, as referenced by section (A) in the pre-

installation checklist diagram, by IP address and hostname. 

From the Command Prompt window, type ping  [NOC Alarm Manager 

server IP address] and then press Enter. 

From the Command Prompt window, type ping  [NOC Alarm Manager 

server hostname] and then press Enter. 

Did a message similar to device is alive appear each time? 

Notes:    

 

The device is alive message indicates that the ping operation was 

successful. 

 

You can now type exit and then press Enter to close the Command 

Prompt window.
