Initialize the PowerKEY CA System
PowerKEY CA ensures that only an authorized subscriber can access a secured
service. As part of the PowerKEY CA system, the PowerKEY CAA keys, the
Entitlement Agent (EA) pass phrase, and the Factory Root Certificate Authorization
Key must be initialized. This section provides instructions for initializing the
PowerKEY CAA keys, the EA pass phrase, and the Factory Root Certificate
PowerKEY CAA keys, the EA pass phrase, and the Factory Root Certificate
Authorization Key.
Important: Only initialize the PowerKEY CA system if your DNCS/ISDS has never

Initializing the PowerKEY CAA Keys and the EA Pass Phrase
Complete these steps to initialize the PowerKey CAA keys and the EA pass phrase
on the DNCS/ISDS and the TED server.

1 Open an xterm window on the DNCS/ISDS and log on as the root user.
2 Insert the Customer CAA CD into the CD-ROM drive on the DNCS/ISDS.
3 In the xterm window, type camDncsTedInit and press Enter. A menu appears in

4 At the Enter Choice prompt, type 1 to select the Initialize DNCS option, and
press Enter. The Enter Name of file containing CAA Key [default=floppy]

6 At the confirmation prompt, type yes to continue and press Enter.
Results:
The following message appears:
Loading CAA to TED and DNCS. Please wait.
The CD is automatically ejected.
7 Remove the CAA CD from the CD-ROM drive. The CAA Pass Phrase prompt
appears.
8 Ask the Cisco installer to type the Cisco portion of the CAA Pass Phrase.
