Working with Different Units of Measure
You may want to buy or sell items using a different unit of
measure than the one you use when stocking your items. For
example, you might buy and stock potatoes by the kilogram but
sell them in five-kilogram bags. You can set up this relationship
so that when you sell a bag of potatoes, Simply Accounting
knows that this represents five kilograms of your stock.

To set up different units of measure for inventory items:
1. In the Inventory and Services window, open the inventory
item and click the Units tab.
2. Type the unit of measure you use to stock the item.
3. Uncheck the Same As Stocking Unit box for selling or buying
units.
4. Type the unit of measure that you use when selling or
buying.
5. Type the number of stocking units that make up a buying or
selling unit or vice versa. For example, if the stocking unit of
measure is kilograms and the selling unit is grams, you
would enter 1000 in the first box and select Grams per
Kilogram in the second box:
