Selecting the Frame Rate
You can select from the following frame rates depending on the recording mode:
 60i, 30F, 24F (2:3 pulldown-converted)
 60i, 30F, 24F (2:3 pulldown-converted or 2:3:3:2 pulldown-converted)
60i Mode
Records in 60 fps interlaced mode, the same as standard-definition TV signals.
30F Mode
Records in 30 fps progressive mode and outputs
signals converted into 60 fps interlaced. Video output
from the HDV/DV terminal will be in 30p.
24F Mode
Records in 24 fps progressive mode like movie cameras,
creating a true cinematic feel to the picture.
The video signal will be output from the HDV/DV
terminal in 24 fps progressive mode. The signal output
from the HD/SD SDI terminal (
 only) and the
COMPONENT OUT terminal will be down-converted to
60i using the 2:3 pulldown method.
24F (2:3) Mode
Signals are down-converted to 60i using the 2:3
pulldown method. This 24F mode is suited for
playback on a TV screen but may require the
extension/compression of some frames while editing.
24F (2:3:3:2) Mode
Signals are down-converted to 60i using the 2:3:3:2
pulldown method. This 24F mode is ideal for extracting
true 24 frames per second in order to transfer to film
simply by discarding the 3:3 adjacent frames (bc and
fg in the figure).
