Prepare the right disc (p. 12).

displayed on the screen to select the right disc.

Initialize the disc (p. 24).

When you format the disc, you can select the recording image quality, HD (high 
definition) or SD (standard definition).

• Your camcorder is compatible with the “1440 × 1080/50i” standard of AVCHD format (p. 123). 

“AVCHD 1080i format” is abbreviated as “AVCHD” in this manual, except when it must be 
described in more detail.

Shoot using your camcorder (p. 30).

Movies are recorded on a disc, and still images are 
recorded on a “Memory Stick Duo.”
