back in Sampling mode.
Load “DCUT_SMP.KSC” from the included
“TNRFD-01P” floppy disk.
1) Insert the included “TNRFD-01P” floppy disk
into the floppy disk drive.
2) Press the [DISK] key (LED lit) to enter Disk
mode.
3) Press the [F1] (“Load”) key to select the Load
page.

ity menu.

press the [F8] (“OK”) key. The following dialog
box will appear.

When you select Clear and then load, the multi-

PG p.130).
8) Press the [F8] (“OK”) key to load the data.
Never remove the media while data is being

Set the channel of the transmitting MIDI device to
match the global MIDI channel.
With the factory settings, the global MIDI channel is
set to channel 1. Set the transmitting MIDI device to
MIDI channel 1.
Play the samples of the multisample.
For example if the transmitting MIDI device is a
MIDI keyboard, play any note in the range of C2,
D2–F#2 to sound the sample that is assigned to that
key.
You can also press the [AUDITION] key to hear the
sample played. For “Index,” use the [INC][DEC]
keys to select another sample for assignment to the
multisample, and press the [AUDITION] key.
Using a multisample in a program
Multisample data you sampled in Sampling mode or
sample/multisample data you loaded in Disk mode
can be converted to a program by executing the “Conv.
To Prog” utility. (
Alternatively, a multisample you created in Sampling
mode can be assigned to the Program mode parame-
ters “High MS Bank” and “High Multisample” or
“Low MS Bank” and “Low Multisample,” and used as
a program.
When a multisample you created in Sampling mode is
used as a program, you will be able to process its
sound in various ways by using the filter and effects of
the program.
By selecting the preloaded program I-E 000: Sampler
Waves
, you can listen to the various samples of a pro-
gram that uses the multisample you heard in step 4.
You can hear the result of using the compressor or
delay etc. to process the sound of the multisample.
Samples can be used in a drum kit.
The multisamples and samples of Sampling mode
will disappear when the power is turned off. If
you wish to use them after turning the power on
once again, you must reload them.
Sampling (recording a sample)
Here’s how you can use Sampling mode to sample a
drum phrase from an audio CD etc., and convert it into
a program.
1. Sample a drum phrase
You will need to provide a rhythm loop sample such as
a drum phrase from a CD or other audio source. To
start with, let’s use a rhythm loop sample with a rela-
tively simple beat.
As an example here, we will sample two one-measure
drum phrases in 4/4 time at 140 BPM and 100 BPM.
