To turn this feature on, select “Caller ID”. To turn this feature off, select 
“Manual”. (Caller ID subscribers only)
To use this feature, set the date and time first (page 14).
*3 When the ringer volume is turned off, ~ is displayed and the handset does not ring 
for outside calls.
However even when the ringer volume is set to off, the handset rings:
– at the low level for memo alarm (page 24) and intercom calls (page 45)
– at the high level for paging (page 45)
*4 If you select one of the melody ringer tones, the ringer tone continues to play for 
several seconds even if the caller has already hung up. You may either hear a dial 
tone or no one on the line when you answer the call.

*6 You can set the wallpaper to display with or without date and time. The default 
setting is with date and time displayed.
*7 “Handset Number”: Displays the handset number such as “[1]”.
“Base Number”: Displays the base unit number such as “-1-”.
*8 This feature allows the display to be dimmed after being placed on the base unit 
or charger.
– “On”: Backlight is dimmed.
– “Off”: Backlight turns off after 10 seconds of charging.
*9 Turn this feature off if you prefer not to hear key tones while you are dialling or 
pressing any keys, including confirmation tones and error tones.
*10If you subscribe to a Caller ID service and want to view the caller’s information 
after lifting up the handset to answer a call, turn off this feature.
*11To prevent other users from joining your conversations with outside callers, turn 
this feature on.
*12The recall/flash time depends on your telephone exchange or host PBX. Contact 
your PBX supplier if necessary.
