4.  ANTENNA CONNECTION: The transmitter is equipped with 

1 5/8 E/A flanges

 located at the 

top

 of the rack. The RF ATSC compliant mask filter and two output directional couplers are 

provided with the transmitter and are to be located and mounted at the customer's 
discretion. Pineapple Technology recommends the filter be securely mounted above the 
transmitter cabinet but not in a position that could inhibit air circulation from the top of the 
cabinet.

 

One directional coupler is located pre-mask filter and one is located post-mask 

filter.  The pre-filter directional coupler has power monitor ports for reflected power and non-
linear pre-correction. The post directional coupler has monitor ports for forward power and 
linear pre-correction.  Four 12 foot cables have been provided for connection between the 
output directional coupler monitor ports and the DXDPRO-10U modulator.  Conditions vary 
from site to site so some engineering may be required to ensure that the antenna is 
receiving the correct amount of power to comply with FCC licenses and to ensure safety 
from lightning, etc. 

 

One to three harmonic low pass filters are provided for installation after the post directional 
couplers.  The number of low pass filters depends on the transmitter channel.  Channels 22-
24, 32-36, 38, and 65-69 require three filters to meed FCC requirements for GPS 
interferrance.
