Align Subscriber Unit
Installation Steps
2.17 Align Subscriber Unit
•
Make sure the subscriber unit’s base station is activated (check with the NOC).
•
Point the subscriber unit (or its external antenna) in the general direction of its base sta‐
tion.
•
Continue according to the type of unit you are using:
2.17.1 LFF and SFF Units
1. Align the unit horizontally (in azimuth):
a. Swivel the unit 90
o
to the left slowly, 180
o
to the right, and then 90
o
back towards
the base station.

b. While swiveling the unit, listen to the buzzer beep sequence until optimal
alignment is achieved (3 beeps and a pause, as shown below).
2. Repeat the above in elevation.

3. Once alignment is complete, tighten the bolt holding the radio on the mounting
kit.
