Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet

6.
Remove the RTC battery:
1.
Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board (1). Use a thin, non-conductive tool to
remove the RTC battery from the socket on the system board.

Gently hold down the media card reader board (2), and remove the RTC battery (3).
NOTE:
The RTC battery is attached to the system board by foam material rather than double-
sided adhesive.
