Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

Remove the service access cover (see 

Remove the optical drive (see 

) or upgrade bay hard drive (see 

).

Remove the keyboard (see 

Remove the top cover (see 

).

Remove the display assembly (see 

).

Remove the fan/graphics board heat sink (see 

Remove the processor heat sink (see 

Remove the power connector cable:

Remove the power connector cable jack from the base enclosure.

Reverse this procedure to install the Power connector cable.

The security lock is included with the base enclosure assembly, spare part number 652535-001.
