Firmly pull outward on the bezel to remove the bezel from the optical drive tray.

Reverse this procedure to reassemble and install the optical drive.

The hard drive bracket is included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number

642774-001.

7.0 mm, 9.5 mm, or 12.7 mm 500 GB hard drive, 7200 rpm

Before removing the upgrade bay hard drive, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

Remove the service access cover (see 

Remove the upgrade bay hard drive:

Position the computer with the front toward you.
