The VXA-2 drive can record 160 GB on a single 
cartridge at a data transfer rate of 12 
MB/second (given an average data compres-
sion ratio of 2:1).

the data transfer rate of the host with VXA sys-
tems, eliminating the bothersome need to re-
wind tapes and subsequently restart them when 
read errors occur. In addition, this also means
