VMWARE ESX SUPPORT.
With the new agent for VMware, backups can be managed efficiently
by selecting a combination of VCB Proxy, ESX Server, Virtual Machine and Volumes. Physical to
virtual bare metal restore and file level restore to original virtual machine location is also
supported with this agent certified by VMware.
SIMPLIFIED DEVICE MANAGEMENT.
New tape library auto configuration allows you to change
library settings without having to stop the tape services for multiple maintenance tasks, such
as assigning more backup space (backup to disk), cleaning tapes, auto reconfiguring after
replacing bad drives, adding new drives, SAN environments, etc.
NEW ENHANCED DISASTER RECOVERY OPTION.
New enhanced graphical user interface allows
you to easily customize server parameters and hardware like disk drives, network cards, etc.
before performing a disaster recovery. It also supports 64 bit Windows Platforms.
NEW ENHANCED REPORTS FOR PROACTIVE MANAGEMENT.
CA ARCserve Backup includes new
reports that allow you to optimize your current backup jobs as well as determine when a
problem can occur before it happens. New reports include: backup and restore attempt
success rate, clients with most failed backup attempts, partial backups, full backup duration
report, etc.
NEW LICENSING MANAGEMENT CONSOLE.
The auto discovery feature in CA ARCserve
Backup
automatically detects all the licenses in your environment and allows you to have a central
licensing implementation of all ARCserve Backup components from a single console as well as
add, change or remove components in your environment.
