Cisco Video Surveillance Manager Release 4.0/6.0
PB492028
Cisco offers network-centric video surveillance software and hardware that supports video
transmission, monitoring, recording, and management. Cisco video surveillance solutions work in
unison with the advanced features and functions of the IP network infrastructure—switches,
routers, and other network security devices—to enable secure, policy-based access to live or
recorded video. With support for many surveillance cameras, encoders, and applications, Cisco
video surveillance solutions allow customers to build best-in-class video surveillance systems that
optimize cost, performance, and capability.
The Cisco Video Surveillance Manager consists of the following products:
●
Cisco Video Surveillance Media Server: The core component of the Cisco Video
Surveillance Software Suite, the Media Server enables the collection and routing of video
from a wide range of cameras; event-tagging, record-on-motion, and recording of video for
review and archive; secure local, remote, and redundant video archive capabilities; and
bandwidth management for both live distribution and historical recording.
●
Cisco Video Surveillance Operations Manager: Allows organizations to quickly and
effectively configure and manage video throughout the enterprise. The Operations Manager
provides a secure web portal to configure, manage, display, and control video throughout
an IP network, and the ability to manage a large number of security assets and users,
including Media Server instances, cameras, encoders, DVRs, and event sources, as well
as digital monitors powered by Virtual Matrix.
●
Cisco Video Surveillance Virtual Matrix: Brings complete flexibility to the delivery of live and
recorded video to demanding command centers, providing high-availability access to
network video for continuous monitoring applications. Virtual Matrix provides capabilities
that analog switches cannot deliver, such as aggregation and display of video from the
Media Server platform on almost any number of digital monitors distributed across the IP
network. Authorized users and integrated applications control the video that is displayed on
any number of digital monitors.
●
Cisco Video Surveillance Encoding Server: An all-in-one appliance that encodes,
distributes, manages, and archives digital video feeds. Each server encodes up to 64
channels and provides up to 24 TB of storage. The Encoding Server offers the power and
flexibility to meet a diverse range of video surveillance requirements and is cost-effective
and simple to install. It lets you combine multiple video codecs in a single Encoding Server,
manage bandwidth over each part of an IT network to complement capacity and protect
other applications, and create redundant archives of events or loops and automatically
store them in a secure location. With the addition of the Cisco Video Surveillance
Operations Manager, the Encoding Server also provides administrators and operators with
a secure Web portal to configure, manage, display, and control video.
