1.  WHAT IS O_PUR AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

O_PUR is a medicinal inhalation gas with oxygen as an active ingredient.

O_PUR is used in cases of oxygen deficiency (hypoxic or hypoxemic conditions).

This may have several causes:

- Respiratory disorders due to a narrowing of the respiratory tract (laryngospasm, Bronchospamus)
or because of central nervous or neuromuscular disturbances to respiratory regulation.

- Ventilation or perfusion disruption due to abnormal changes in the Lung tissue (e.g. fibrosis, acute
respiratory failure, atelectasis, pulmonary oedema, asthma, bronchiolitis, emphysema)

- Diseases of the cardiovascular system

- Acute anaemia or haemolysis

- Poisoning (e.g. cyanide-, carbon monoxide poisoning)
