Testing the System
(cont'd)
The keypad should display the
identification of the detector when the
detector is activated. The display will clear
when no motion is detected. Note that if you
are using wireless motion detectors, there is
a 3-minute delay between activations. This
is to conserve battery life.
To test all smoke detectors, follow the
manufacturer's instructions. The keypad
should display the identification of each
detector when each is activated.
If you experience a problem with any
protection point (no confirming sounds, no
display),
CALL FOR SERVICE
IMMEDIATELY.
When you have checked (and closed, where
necessary) all protection points, no zone
identification numbers should be displayed
on the keypad.
When you complete testing, exit the TEST
mode by continuing with step 5.

OFF
Exit TEST mode.
Enter your security code and press the OFF
key.
If you inadvertently leave the test mode
active, it automatically turns off after
approximately 4 hours.
NOTE:
One of the special function keys (A, B, C, or D) may be
programmed for a Communicator (dialer) Test. When the key is
pressed, the system seizes the phone line and sends a test report to
the monitoring station.  This means that if a telephone conversation
was going on between two people and the special function key was
pressed (inadvertently or not), the connection will be terminated.
