Controlling exhaust emissions
Through design-related measures – mainly
in the area of the fuel-injection and ignition
systems – the proportion of noxious
materials in the exhaust, such as carbon
monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and
nitrogen oxides (NO
x
), is reduced to a
minimum.

Control indicator Z for exhaust
emissions
Illuminates when the ignition is switched on
and during the start attempt. Goes off
shortly after the engine starts running.
If it illuminates while the engine running
there is a fault in the emission control
system. The permitted emission values
may be exceeded. Consult a workshop
immediately. We recommend your
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
