RS-232 Serial Control

The s80 ampliﬁer contains a serial control input which allows your entire Opus 21 family to be operated from an
automated controller. The RS-232 port operates in listen-only mode and is opto-coupled to prevent ground
loops. Programming commands and conﬁguration details are available on our web site.

Thermal Protection

Due to the high-efﬁciency design of the s80, overheating is unlikely. Should the thermal protection be
triggered, the ampliﬁer will mute the outputs. The display will indicate the internal temperature. Once the
ampliﬁer has cooled sufﬁciently, the display will return to normal and the ampliﬁer can then be un-muted.
