To specify a termination for a line, use the line-term command in controller configuration mode.

line-term {co| cpe}

Central office.

Customer premises equipment. This is the default.

The default value is cpe.

This command was introduced on Cisco 2600 series and Cisco 3700 series
routers.

2600 series and Cisco 3700 series routers.

This command does not have a no form.

This command is used to configure the line termination for use as either the central office (CO) or the customer
premises equipment (CPE).

The following example shows how to configure the controller in slot 1 and port 0. The router is set to terminate
as CPE with the line mode automatically selecting between two-wire mode and four-wire mode.
