PC Interface
You can connect your SL 1 handset to a computer using a Siemens data cable (page 87).
Your computer can then communicate with your SL 1 using "Siemens Data Suite" (free
download available at http:\\www.my-siemens.com/gigaset-sds) and access the follow-
ing parameters and lists in the handset:
Reading out parameters
SW version
Type
Manufacturer's code
Read/write access to:
the directory
the email directory
the network access list
the appointments list
the last number redial list
Read/write access to other parameters:
ringer settings
volume settings
loading screensavers
loading melodies
accepting calls and talking on the phone
Data transfer
Some functions involve the transfer of large volumes of data between the handset and
the external device. In this case the handset switches to data transfer mode, Data Trans-
fer appears in the display. In this mode, you cannot make any entries via the keypad and
incoming calls are ignored.
In the following situations, the handset switches to data transfer mode:
Read/write access to the directory
Read/write access to the email directory
Read/write access to the network access list
Read/write access to the the appointments list
Read/write access to the last number redial list
Loading screensavers
Loading melodies
If an error occurs during transfer, the handset automatically switches to idle status.
Making and accepting calls
If you dial a number from an external device or accept a call from one, the handset will
respond as if you had executed this function on the handset.
