■ Removal
1. Remove the two screws 

q, and then remove the bed

plate 

w.

2. Loosen the set screw 

r of the set collar e to release

the cutting pressure of the edge knife 

t.

3. Remove the screw 

y, and then remove the needle

plate cover 

u.

4. Use the accessory Z-shape screwdriver to remove the

screw 

i, and then remove the edge knife t.

5. Remove the two screws 

o, and then remove the fixed

edge knife 

!0.

■ Installation
NOTE:

Either side of the standard fixed edge knife can be
used.

1. Place the fixed edge knife 

!0 into the groove in the

needle plate 

!1 so that dimensions A and B in the il-

lustration are equal to each other, and then secure it
by tightening the two screws 

o.

2. Use the Z-shaped screwdriver to tighten the screw 

i

to install the edge knife 

t so that it gap between it

and the fixed edge knife 

!0 is 0.03  to 0.05 mm.

* If the edge knife 

t cannot be installed at a slight

angle, or if it does not cut properly, install the edge
knife 

t to the edge knife bracket !2, and then loosen

the two screws 

!3 and tilt the edge knife bracket !2

so that the edge knife 

t is at a slight angle.

However, if the angle is too large, the blade will
reach the end of its useful life more quickly.

3. Adjust the cutting pressure of the edge knife 

t using

the set screw 

r of the set collar e. (Refer to page 170.)

4. Install the needle plate cover 

u with the screw y.

5. Install the bed plate 

w with the two screws q.
