5. Make the preparations for recording.
TUNER (Broadcasts) : Select a station
CD
: Enter pause mode at the beginning of the track
to be recorded.
CDR
: Enter pause mode at the beginning of the track
to be recorded.
AUX (Auxiliary analog source)
Make preparation for tuning or playback.

6. Start recording.
TUNER (Broadcasts) : Press the TUNER/BAND key
CD (CD player)
: Press the CD

CDR (CD recorder)
: Press the CD-R

AUX (Auxiliary analog source)
: Press the AUX/D-AUX key repeatedly until "AUX"
is displayed.

The input level can be varied only when the "AUX" (auxiliary analog source)
input is selected. Adjust the input level from the auxiliary source as required
if it is too small or too large. (AUX InputRec Gain)

Select the source to be recorded.

When CD has been selected.

TAPE  REC
÷ When CD 6, CD-R 6 is pressed, playback will
start when a disc already has been inserted.  Press
the 
STOP key to stop it.
÷ "
DECK
" is displayed and the TAPE REC indicator starts to light steadily.
÷ Recording stops automatically when the tape side(s) to be recorded have been fully
recorded.

÷ If the key is pressed during recording from a CD, the CD
playback also stops.
÷ If the key is pressed during recording from CDR, the CDR
playback also stops.
÷ The same function is also available using the 7 STOP key on
the remote control unit.
÷ Press the TAPE REC key during recording. It stops after
leaving a non-recorded blank of 4 seconds. (Press the key
again to resume recording.)
÷ The "
DECK
" display blinks and the TAPE REC indicator also
blinks.
Pause the recording (Main unit only)

When the preparation is complete, press the TAPE REC key.
(this starts actual recording)
Play (or tune) the music source to be recorded.

The source connected to the DIGITAL
IN OPTICAL jack cannot be recorded
onto tape. To record an external
source on tape, connect the source
component's output to the AUX IN
jacks and select the "AUX" input
source.
÷ If you want to also record the input on a CD-R/RW at the same time, press the CD-
R REC key in step 
1, wait until the blinking rate of the CD-R REC indicator slows
down, then press the CD-R REC key again.
