LOW FREQUENCY GAIN SWITCH
The ULTIMA LE-1 incorporates a gain range adjustment that
assures optimum operation with a wide variety of associated elec-
tronics and other conditions. This 3-position jumper system is set
at the factory to +36 dB and usually does not require adjustment.
If, after performing System Optimization (starting on page 25), you
feel the audio system requires additional (or lower) low frequency
gain, perform the steps below to add (or subtract) another 6 dB:
1. Turn off all audio system power.
2. On the ULTIMA LE-1 rear panel (see Figure 7 on page 14),
locate the FM-2 Filter Module, and remove the thumbscrews.
3. Gripping the two handles on the module, pull the FM-2 out
of the chassis.
4. On the module, locate the gain range jumper, S5, and move it
to the desired setting, as shown in Figure 17. Note that at the
highest gain setting, the jumper is simply “stored,” rather than
being used to make an electrical connection.
5. Reinsert the FM-2 Filter Module and firmly press it in. Tighten
the thumbscrews.
6. Turn on all audio system power.
