Step 1 - Gathering  Information
Depending on the type of broadband internet service you are subscribed to,
different types of information may be needed to complete the setup.  Acquiring
this information in advance will make the setup of your AirStation router simple
and quick.  A quick call to your service provider’s customer or technical support
number will provide you with the needed information if you are unsure.  If you
are connecting to the internet via DSL service, then PPPoE information will most
likely be required from your ISP.
Recording the AirStation’s LAN MAC Address
The LAN MAC address of the AirStation is the default SSID (SSID) and is found
on the back of the AirStation body as shown in the illustration above.  Recording
this MAC address will help in locating your router wirelessly later on.
MAC Addresses are 12-digit codes comprised of numbers and letters. When
inputting MAC Addresses for custom confi gurations, a semi-colon (:) is used to
separate every two digits. ex: 00:07:40:00:00:00
The LAN or Wired MAC address is the
default SSID (SSID) of the AirStation. The
LAN MAC address is located on the back
of the AirStation clearly labeled.
