c) Assembling the ‘FS20 TFK’, inserting the batteries
• Open the housing by carefully pushing the two opening catches (A) on the left of the device
inward with a suitable tool, for example a screwdriver, and simultaneously pulling this part
of the lid toward you.
• If an external contact is to be connected, this should now be connected to the screw terminal
following the instructions in section 6. e).
• Should you wish to define settings for the ‘FS20 TFK’ other than the factory settings, you
will be able to do this easily once the batteries have been inserted.
• The ‘FS20 TFK’ requires 2 AAA batteries.
• Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (plus/+ und minus/-) according to the markings
on the battery holder (see figure in section 6. b).
• Now mount the device in the desired location, either using a screw through the screw hole
or a strip of double-sided tape. If using adhesive tape, make sure the surface it is applied
to is clean, dry and free of grease and oils.
• Close the device. Make sure the housing catches snap together.
• If the internal contacts will not be used, the installation location near the monitor contact
may be freely chosen, taking into account the instructions in section 6. a).
• When using the internal contacts, the actuator magnet is usually mounted onto the moving
part (window sash) and the ‘FS20 TFK’ onto the immobile part (frame).
