13. Troubleshooting
RC System
RC system does not work
Transmission range too short
Servos do not respond correctly
RC system does not work prop-
erly while engine is running
Batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or receiver are
spent
Batteries/rechargeable batteries inserted wrongly
Plug for batteries/rechargeable batteries of receiver is loose
Batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or receiver are
weak
Insufficient aerial reception
The aerial of the receiver is not pulled out to its full length
Receiver aerial was cut off
Batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or receiver are
weak
Gear wheels in the servo transmission do not engage or are de-
fective
Adjuster rings on the steering levers are loose
Servo reverse switch on the transmitter was accidentally set to
“REV”
Plug for batteries/rechargeable batteries of receiver is loose
Receiver damaged, e.g. after a crash
Replace the batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or
receiver
Check the polarity of the batteries/rechargeable batteries
Firmly insert the plug again
Replace the batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or
receiver
Completely uncoil the receiver aerial and guide it upwards
Pull out the aerial wire completely.
Repair the receiver
Replace the batteries/rechargeable batteries of transmitter and/or
receiver
Have the servo repaired or exchange it
Retighten the adjuster rings, use the factory settings
Switch the servo reverser to “NORM”
Firmly insert the plug again
Repair the receiver
The engine does not start.
Engine does not receive any fuel
Defective glow plug or empty start battery
Start battery is defective
Fuel tank is empty or carburettor not filled
Carburettor is not adjusted correctly
Fuel is old or contaminated
Combustion chamber is full of fuel (drowned)
Additional air is sucked in via fuel line or engine
Servo linkage is not adjusted correctly
Fuel line, air filter or exhaust are clogged
Main nozzle needle is twisted in all the way
Idle mix is too lean
Fuel hoses are bent
Fuel tank is defective
Change the glow plug, charge start battery
Replace start battery
Fill the fuel tank and pump fuel to the carburettor
Readjust idle and main nozzle needles
Replace fuel and check the fuel filter
Unscrew the spark plug and proceed as described in the respective
section
Check/replace the fuel hoses and/or tighten all engine screws
Place the servo in neutral position and readjust
Clean blocked parts; if necessary, replace
Reset main nozzle to factory settings
Reset the idle speed mix adjustment screw to
factory setting
Check and straighten out the fuel hoses
Replace the fuel tank
