After the treadle has been depressed backward, you can sew a set number of stitches to create end backtack stitches.

r will illuminate and the end
backtacking function will turn on.
• The CD indicator 
t will illuminate and the number
of end backtack stitches will appear in the LED dis-
play

 indicates 6 stitches for
section C and 2 stitches for section D.)
2. Use the 
쑶쑴 selection keys u to change the number
of end backtack stitches.
3. Carry out sewing. When the treadle is depressed back-
ward, the end backtack stitches will be sewn. (For the
856A, the thread will then be trimmed.)
Note:
The sewing machine will continue operating until the
set number of end backtack stitches has been sewn,
even if the treadle is returned to the neutral position.
The set number of end backtack stitches will be sewn
regardless of the zigzag stop position setting.

End backtacking is carried out when the end backtack indicator 
r is illuminated.

 End backtack sewing speed
The sewing machine operates at a speed of 1,200 rpm when sewing end backtack stitches.
 Changing the setting
The DIP switch settings can be used to change the zigzag width for end backtack stitches. (Refer to page 106.)
