D-Series CLI Reference 8-1

This chapter describes the Differentiated Services (Diffserv) set of commands and how to use 
them. 

D‐Series devices support Diffserv policy‐based provisioning of network resources by allowing IT 
administrators to:

•

Create, change or remove Diffserv policies based on business‐specific use of network services.

•

Prioritize and police traffic according to assigned policies and conditions.

•

Assign or unassign ports to Diffserv policies so that only ports activated for a policy will be 
allowed to transmit frames accordingly.

Note: The configuration of DiffServ rules is contingent on the order in which they are configured.
