This guide provides an overview, specifications, and instructions for installing the Enterasys

® 

D2 

Ethernet Switch and its components in a standard 19‐inch equipment rack, on a wall, under a 
table, or on a suitable flat surface. This guide also explains how to interpret the system status 
LEDs to facilitate troubleshooting when necessary, and provides information on how to contact 
Enterasys Networks for additional help.

This guide is intended for a network administrator who is responsible for installing and setting up 
the D2 switch.

Read through this guide completely to familiarize yourself with its contents and to gain an 
understanding of the features and capabilities of the D2 switch. A general working knowledge of 
data communications networks is helpful.
