A Skin is a picture that you can design and print to complement your
Key Layout. A Skin is placed between the DX1 Pad and the Key
Tray. You can use Skins to display the functions of your DX1 Keys
or to customize the look of your Pad. Skins can include the positions
of your DX1 Keys in a Key Layout and/or a graphical background.

Creating Skins
Each Skin that you create is attached to a specific Program Profile.
This link allows Skins to display and use the correct DX1 Key
assignment information from the corresponding Profile. You can
create a separate Skin for each of your Program Profiles. To create
a Skin, first display the Program Profile you want to use by selecting
it from the Program Profile Selection Box. Next, select “View > Skin
View” from the Ergodex Manager Menu. This will switch the Main
Screen to display the Skin View utility.
Each “blue orb” in the list on the left side of the screen represents the
Footprint of a DX1 Key. You can drag a Key Footprint onto the
virtual Pad located in the middle of the screen. Footprints placed on
the Skin are the same size (when printed) as the DX1 Keys. The

Key, you can right click on a Footprint on the Skin and select “Show
Outline”
Outlines around a Footprint allow you show the exact desired
location of a DX1 Key. You can show or hide all Outlines by right
clicking on the Skin and selecting “Show/Hide Outline for all
Footprints”
