4. Select a Highlight Color Printing Color. Loaded Color is the 

color loaded at the printer and is the default selection. If the 
toner color loaded at the printer is red and without setting the 
mapping color option (previous step) to a color other than red, 
only the red parts of the document print in red; the blue parts 
print in tints and shades of highlight color and gray. If the map 
color is changed to blue, the blue parts of the document print 
in the highlight color of red; other colors print in tints and 
shades of the highlight color and gray. However, for a 
monochrome mapping scheme, the entire document prints in 
shades of gray.

5. Select a Highlight Color Mismatch Action. This determines 

what action is taken when the loaded highlight color is not the 
same as the selected highlight color.

6. Click OK to save your entries and return to the Queue Status 

window. 

NOTE: Information is sent to the printer that supports the selected 
Highlight Color attributes (e.g., DocuPrint NPS). The printer 
performs the appropriate action.

Printer Default: This is a default selection and reflects the 
Default Printing Mode setting within System Preferences 
(Highlight Color or Monochrome). Jobs that are submitted 
without specifying a different Mapping Algorithm, are 
printed and/or saved with the System Specified setting 
(Highlight Color or Monochrome). System Specified is set 
when the job is scheduled.

As an example, if the System Specified Default Printing 
Mode setting is Monochrome, and you do not change the 
Mapping Algorithm, the job prints in Monochrome. You can 
submit a job to print using highlight color by specifying any 
non-monochrome Mapping Algorithm setting, such as 
Color To Highlight, together with other highlight color 
attributes, if desired.
