Auto Focus does not 
work
• 
The subject is not in focus. When the subject 
is outside the AF area, focus on the subject by 
moving it into the AF area and half-pressing 
[Shutter].
• 
The subject is too close. Step back from the 
subject and shoot.
• 
The focus mode is set to MF. Switch the mode 
to AF.
The AEL feature does 
not work
The AEL feature is not available in t and s 
modes. Select another mode to use this feature. 
In M mode, this features is available only when 
the ISO sensitivity is set to Auto.
The lens does not 
work
• 
Ensure that the lens is properly mounted.
• 
Remove the lens from the camera and  
remount it.
The external flash 
does not work
Ensure that the external device is properly 
mounted and turned on.
The date and time 
settings screen 
appears when you 
power on the camera
• 
Set the date and time again.
• 
This screen appears when the camera’s internal 
power source is completely discharged. Insert 
a fully charged battery, turn off the camera, 
and then wait at least 72 hours for the internal 
power source to recharge.
