To export layers as files in ImageReady
In ImageReady, you can export and save layers as individual files using a variety of formats, including PSD, GIF,
JPEG, PNG, WBMP, and SWF. You can apply different format settings to individual layers, or one format to all
exported layers. Layers are named automatically as they are saved. You can set options to control the generation of
names. All format settings are saved with your ImageReady document for convenience when you use this feature
again.
Choose File > Export > Layers As Files. If you’re exporting only specific layers, select the layers in the Layers
palette before you choose the Layers as Files command.
Note: Click a layer in the Layers palette to select it. Shift-click to select a series of layers. Ctrl-click (Windows) or
Command-click (Mac OS) to select noncontiguous layers.
In the Export Layers As Files dialog box, under File Options, click Choose to select a destination for the exported
files.
3
Enter a name in the Base Name text box to specify a common name for the files.
Click the Set button to set up specific options for file naming. Choose elements from the pop-up menus or enter text
into the fields to be combined into the default names for all files. Elements include layer name, document name, layer
number, file creation date, punctuation, and file extension.

Specify how you want to save the files by choosing from the following options:
For Export, select the layers to be exported by choosing either All Layers, Top Level Layers And Layer Sets, or
Selected Layers. The Selected Layers option is available only if you select layers before choosing the Layers As Files
command. If your multilayered document has a Background layer, you can select the Include Background option
to include it in the export.
For Layer, choose a layer from the Layer pop-up menu if you are using a separate format for each layer. You can
also use the navigation buttons
 to choose the layer.
Note: Select the Preview option in the Export Layers As Files dialog box to preview the layer you choose.
For Apply, choose either One Format For All Layers or Separate Format For Each Layer.
Under Format Options, either choose a setting from the Preset pop-up menu or manually set the file format and
compression.
If  you’re  using a separate  format  for each layer, choose another  layer and  then  set the  format  options.  Do  this  for all
the subsequent layers you’re exporting.
You can save a custom setting for reuse. Adjust the settings. The Unnamed option is automatically chosen in the
Preset menu. Click the Save Current Layer Settings icon
, name the new setting, and save it to the Optimized
Settings folder. You can also delete a setting by choosing it from the Preset menu and clicking the Delete icon
