PaperPort’s SimpleSearch features help you find items scanned and
stored in folders. For example, if you recall the item’s title or keywords,
PaperPort can find the item based on them. However, PaperPort also
reads the entire text content of each scanned item and can find items
based on any words and phrases in the content. To use this powerful
search feature, make sure that the Content checkbox is selected on the
Find Item dialog box.
To use SimpleSearch to find an item in a folder:
Clicking the Options tab in the dialog box displays several options for
using SimpleSearch, including whether you want PaperPort to match
the exact phrase you’re looking for or to find text that closely matches as
well.
Clicking the Update Index button tells PaperPort to read any scanned
items that haven’t been read yet. PaperPort reads the items and stores the
words and phrases in the content index (which is similar to the index of
this guide).
1.
In Desktop View,
choose Find Item
from the Search
menu.
2.
Type the text that
you know will
identify the item.
3.
Select one or more
checkboxes to tell
PaperPort where
to search for the
text.
4.
Select the buttons
to find just the
first, or all items
that have that text.
