dome and telescope.  
 

 

Make sure that the Dome and Telescope have been properly selected. Note that 
a Telescope Simulator and Dome Simulator are available if you wish to 
experiment with the software without the hardware being present.  
 
Click the Connect button. The dome and telescope should now be connected.  If 
you get an error message, check the connections.  

Click the Open button. The dome should start opening within ten seconds (it has 
to wait for the next radio message, which is sent every ten seconds). The dome 
will take about 90 seconds to fully open. The shutters are opened one after the 
other, and the total motor running time is conservative to ensure that each slit 
fully opens.  
 
When the open cycle is complete, the status will display Shutter is open.
