Selecting the Format of the Output 
Signal (VIDEO OUT)
When a video monitor is connected to the VIDEO OUT 
jack to monitor images, select the format of the output 
signal: NTSC or PAL.

Display the Setup display.
For details on displaying the Setup display, see 
“Displaying the Setup display” on page 34.

Select VIDEO OUT by pressing v or V of the 
control button.

Press ENTER of the control button.
The Video Out display appears.

Select PAL or NTSC by pressing v or V of the 
control button.

Press ENTER of the control button.
The Setup display is retrieved.
When PAL is selected
If NTSC is selected, you can monitor images both on the 
LCD and the video monitor. If PAL is selected, you have 
to select the monitoring device with the MONITOR 
(PAL) switch, the LCD or video monitor.
LCD: For monitoring on the LCD
VIDEO OUT: For monitoring on the connected video 
monitor
Selecting Sound During Operation 
(SOUND)
When you operate the camera, you can be prompted or 
notified with the sound if you wish.

Display the Setup display.

Select SOUND by pressing v or V of the control 
button.

Press ENTER of the control button.
The Sound display appears.

Select the sound settings by pressing v or V of the 
control button.
OFF: No sound is heard.
SHUTTER: Sound is heard only when the release 
button is pressed.
ON: Sound is heard with all operations (excluding 
the zoom lever, PLAY/CAMERA switch, and 
MONITOR (PAL) switch).

Press ENTER of the control button.
The Setup display is retrieved.
