Optical Image Stabilizer [STABILIZER]
This mode recognizes and compensates 
jitters. You can reduce blurring caused by 
jitters when you hold the camera with one 
hand for taking a picture of yourself or 
when you take pictures indoors where the 
shutter speed is slowed down.

1 Keep pressing the stabilizer 
button until [STABILIZER] 
appears and then select the 
stabilizer function mode.
• The stabilizer function may not work 
sufficiently in the following cases.
– When too much jitter occurs.
– In digital zoom range.
– When taking pictures while following 
subjects in motion.
– When the shutter speed is extremely 
slow due to dark conditions or other 
reasons.
• For jitters, refer to P29.
• In simple mode [
] or [SELF 
PORTRAIT] in scene mode (P51), the 
stabilizer function mode is fixed to 
[MODE2].
• In Motion image mode [
], [MODE2] 
cannot be set, and the stabilizer function 
menu does not appear.

The stabilizer operates 
continuously and can assist 
during photocomposition.

The stabilizer function is in 
standby and activates at the 
moment the shutter captures the 
image. This mode offers a 
greater degree of stabilization. 
Usually, we recommend setting 
to [MODE2].
