Paper Feeding Problems
Symptom
Cause and Solution
Paper is jammed during
printing.
Clear the paper jam.  See Section 6
Troubleshooting/Paper Jams While the
Machine is Printing.
Paper sticks together.
Q
Ensure there is not too much paper in the
Automatic Paper Feeder.  Depending on
the thickness of your paper, the feeder
can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
Q
Make sure you are using the correct type
of paper. See Section 1 Getting
Started/Paper Guidelines.
Q
Remove paper from the feeder and flex
or fan the paper.
Q
Humid conditions may cause some paper
to stick together.
Paper fails to feed.
Q
Make sure the envelope guide is not in
the upright position.
Q
Remove any obstructions inside the
machine.
Multiple sheets of paper
do not feed.
Q
Different types of paper may be stacked
in the Automatic Paper Feeder.  Load the
paper of only one type, size, and weight.
Q
When loading paper, do not force the
paper down into the printer.
Q
If multiple sheets have caused a paper
jam, clear the paper jam. See Section 6
Troubleshooting/Clearing Jams.
