1. ERROR MESSAGES
If an abnormal condition arises in the machine or an incorrect operation is performed, an alarm buzzer
is generated for about 4 seconds and a message to indicate the nature of the error appears in the LCD
Display.  In that case, take corrective action.
For error messages that are not described in this chapter, refer to the e-STUDIO16/20/25 OPERATOR’S
MANUAL FOR COPYING FUNCTION or e-STUDIO16/20/25 OPERATOR’S MANUAL FOR FACSIMILE
FUNCTION.

Cause
The Network Interface Card or
Internet Fax unit has been
damaged.
The Receive Mode is set to SMTP.
The machine cannot find the POP
server in the network.
The IP address of this machine has
not been assigned.
No E-mail has been received.
Your user name is incorrect or
locked to log in the POP server, or
the password is incorrect.
The machine cannot connect to the
POP server.
Solution
The Network Interface Card or
Internet Fax unit must be replaced.
Call for service.
Select POP for the Receive Mode
(see page 3-13).  If the Receive
Mode is set to SMTP, the [CHECK
E-MAIL] key is not available.
Check the IP address of the POP
server is set correctly (see page 3-
14).  If it is correctly set, ask your
network administrator if the mail
server is correctly active.
Assign the IP address of this
machine (see page 3-6).

Check the POP login name and
password is set correctly (see page
3-17, 3-18).  Of they are correctly
set, ask your network administrator
if your login name is not locked.
Check the IP address of the POP
server is set correctly (see page 3-
14).  If it is correctly set, ask your
network administrator if your POP
account is correctly set on the mail
server.
