SETTING UP EVENT INFORMATION COLLECTION
You can view the event information generated during the operation of the In-Skin Router. You can collect
the information necessary for fault analysis. You can set an event information type, an event information
level, and where to output event information.
You can set the event information type for each of the functions of the In-Skin Router, such as ARP, IP,
ICMP, and PPP. For setting, use the logging command with the SUBSYSTEM parameter.
You can specify the following event information levels:
error : Error state level
warn : Warning state level
notice: Normal level
info : Informational level
debug: Debugging level
You can output event information to the following terminals. To output event information to a syslog serv-
er, use the syslog command.
• Local console
• Remote console
• syslog server
NOTE:
If collecting event information, set up the In-Skin Router so that only the messages related to
the problems that have occurred are displayed. Displaying unnecessary messages will increase
the load on the In-Skin Router unnecessarily.
If, in particular, a console is established to remote from the In-Skin Router, displaying unnec-
essary messages will cause the In-Skin Router to spend most of its operational time in commu-
nication with the remote console.
